A couple wee notes:
On how to celebrate/acknowledge/experience Matariki:
There are heaps of different ways you can lean into Matariki. These ideas are suggestions inspired by our own rangahau and experiences but we're not experts! Check out this resource by the Living by the Stars team to see if they fit in with your own takeaways.
On selling things around Matariki:
Team, let's be straight up. You do not NEED this pack - or to purchase anything at all - to celebrate Matariki. That's one of the awesome things about it! This is an option for people who would like a little extra inspiration to do so and to get their friends and whānau involved this year. This is ALSO an income source for us. We don't feel icky about that because it allows us to continue promoting Māori creatives so they can keep contributing to the thriving of our culture, but want you to know we've definitely spent time in wānanga over it.
